Pinkfresh Studio | Birthday Blog Hop!

Hey crafty friends, it's Elsie here with a blog hop celebrating Pinkfresh Studio's 4th birthday. There are loads of giveaways happening on my blog and across Pinkfresh social media, but first let me tell you about the layout I've created!

I'm *slightly* obsessed with the Be You collection, and I couldn't resist making another layout with it.

I especially love the florals in the collection, so I was inspired to create a springtime layout!

I backed a couple of cut files from Paige Evans (the rain boots and flowers) with the lighter colours from the kit. As much as I love the navy in this collection, I wanted to keep this layout light and fresh to get that spring vibe!

I created clusters of in the corners of the page to help frame it, and I used some of the foliage/leaf pieces from the die-cuts, chipboard and puffy stickers.

I also created a puddle and some raindrops hanging from the cloud with some plain blue cardstock and added some highlights with a white pen to make it look like water.

And finally the alphas in this collection are amazing: shiny rose gold in a script font... what more could you want?!

And now onto the good stuff ;)

A Case of The Blahs | Pinkfresh Studio Blog Hop!

Hey everyone! I’m back with another Pinkfresh Studio blog hop, this time for the new collection: A Case of the Blahs.

If I had to sum up this collection it would be: perfectly imperfect! Although it’s great to scrapbook the best bits of life, it’s nice to be able to document some more ‘real life’ moments and this collection is perfect for the imperfect moments you'd like to capture!

I was inspired by all of the ‘real life’ sentiments you can find in the papers and embellishments throughout the collection and I decided to create a large title as the focus of my page. I used The Cut Shoppe’s Open Letter alpha to spell the word ‘nope’, and I backed it with one of the gorgeous pale blue patterned papers.

I used the black alpha from the collection, to spell out the first half of my title. So in full my title reads: ‘Queen of Nope’! Because some days are just ‘nope’ days, right?!

For some extra whimsy I used this Queen cut file to do some paper-piecing using the 6x6 patterned papers. I can’t get over how cute this turned out!

Remember to hop along to everyone’s blogs and leave a comment to be in with a chance to win A Case of the Blahs prize pack! Comments will close 11:59pm CST Thursday February 8th and the winner will be announced on the PFS blog Saturday February 10th. Good luck!

Let Your Heart Decide | Pinkfresh Studio Blog Hop!

Hey friends, it's Elsie here with another Pinkfresh Blog Hop! This time we're using the gorgeous and brand new Let Your Heart Decide collection.

This is the layout I created:

I was inspired by the book images throughout the collection, so I decided to recreate my own books on a much larger scale.

It's really simple to create these books... I used some patterned paper, cut it into rectangles and rounded the corners! To add some extra details I used some of the cardstock stickers and ephemera pieces which have some really pretty labels with gold foiling to create the look of cute book covers!

There are also lots of phrases throughout the collection that are related to stories and books, such as 'a new chapter' and 'I love a good story'; perfect for any bibliophiles out there!

My favourite embellishments are perhaps the layered stickers, especially the floral piece I layered over my photo. But I also love the leatherette stickers, they add some gorgeous texture and I love the cascade of hearts coming out of the coffee cup.

Now for the good stuff... If you would like to win a Let Your Heart Decide gift pack, make sure to leave a comment on everyone's blog post by Feb 1st and the winner will be announced on the Pinkfresh blog on Feb 3rd!

Good luck!
